Red face Files from Inventor 11 into Vault 5.

Hello, I'm am having problems inserting assembly files from Inventor 11 into Vault 5. The latest file has taken 2 hours and still going. I've checked to see if the program is still responding in windows task manager and yes it is and when I check the performance its only using ~2% of the CPU memory.
Is there some setting I need to alter to free up the memory?
Does Inventor 2008 fix this problem?
    Any advice please.
    Regards Greg

How big is the assembly? Are there a lot of parts being entered?

There might have been some hotfixes issued for Vault 5.0 speed, although I can't swear to it now (it's been a while since I've worked with 5.0)

As for 2008 fixing the issue, I believe 2008 is quicker than 5.0, but I don't know that it'll fix THAT kind of sluggishness.

Is there anything in your network (like network speed, firewalls, VPN, etc) that could be slowing you down?

2 hours seems like a long time unless that assembly is HUGE!

    Thanks for your reply jonathan,
Its a Stripper Column for a Petrol Company and consists of Stainless Steel (sheetmetal)Distallation trays and piping.
The assembly consists of 291 files which totals to 132mb in size.
Network speed is 1GB, Firewall is for incoming files only and VPN is on as seperate machine.
I would like to be using 2008 inventor and vault but the boss at this stage won't spend the dollars.
Hope alls well in your neck of the woods.
    Cheers Greg
