    Question Import from Visio

    Description:
A command in AutoCad LT to directly read and convert files from Msoft Visio

    How Used:
    Select Visio file (.vsd)
    Open
    Save as (.dwg)

    Feature Affinity:
I have to convert files from Visio and an Autodesk command would be a vast improvement of the Viso command Save As (.dwg), which produces files in LT 2000/2002 format.

    What's wrong with that?

I would agree, were it not for the fact that all text is imported as MTEXT with its original colour as part of the text definition. To convert a large drawing to enable text colour ByLayer requires either:
every text item to be individually edited
    or
all MText exploded to Text & then properties changed.

This is, for my use, a major problem. Autodesk should be able to produce a better conversion.

    Ahh. That makes sense.

I really don't think adesk will give us an import routine for this simply because Visio DOES have an export routine. You might do better in a Microsoft Visio forum.
