Default My polylines have automatic elevations!!

A drawing was dropped into my lap recently and i have found that the polylines have unusual elevations as contours. With further digging, I found out that when i draw a normal polyline, it has an automatic elevation of -3.35. Then if i change the elevation, say, to 180, the ACTUAL elevation of that polyline is not 180 but is 183.35 and so on and so forth. This may be an easy problem to fix (I hope it is!) but I have searched everywhere in the program and have not found anything. I tried resetting the UCS, i tried setting my Z O-snaps to 0...nothing seems to work. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

What is the value of the variable "Elevation"?

Not quite sure i understand your question. Say I have a 180 contour, and I set the elevation of that contour to 180. The actually elevation of that contour will be 183.35 instead of 180. It's like my UCS is sitting at a Z elevation of -3.35.

I'm in the same office, and I have to add that the "ELEV" command was set at "0".

We tried it at "1", and checked the existing polyline (no effect), then created a new polyline (no effect).

Basically, when the mouse is hovered over the SNAP location, it reads as zero elevation in the bottom left of the screen (coordinates in model space), but in the properties - it is listed as being -3.35.

We also tried the "OSNAPZ" command, with both the 1 and 2 settings.

Are you working in the WCS or in a UCS?
If in a UCS, draw something (a point, say) at 0,0,0 then switch to WCS and list the point.

Sounds like they are in a side or profile view.

Eh...not necessarily. I had a drawing converted to DWG from some off-brand CADD package one that did things like this. It never did work right until I flattened the entire drawing then exported it as a DXF. And yes, it was an ugly mess. For their sake though, I'm hoping your solution works!

I am having a problem with my polylines too. everytime i draw a poyline, when i click the polyline to see properties, it has elevation zero. But i cant draw a curve between them. So i have to explode them and the lines have elevations. Don't know how they get the elevation though. I have changed all my features in my drawing to zero elevation. I still have the same problem. Somebody please suggest me a solution.
