    Default Office CUI not loading acad.cui as adminstrator

    I'd like to launch/deploy get going with 2008 as soon as possible.
    I have 2 log-ins, one is a user log-in. my other I have adminstrator rights.
    As the user I have our office.cui set as the enterprise cui file, as administrator it is set to the main cui file.

    I asked to have 2 stations, the second station is set up now, I was off of 2008 for awhile was going to get started again today, and now as administrator acad.cui is not loading, but as user everything is fine.

    This happened a while ago, and I don't know why. I kept changing it from MAIN to ENTERPRISE and back, and unload partial cui's and load again and eventually if fixed itself, but I did nothing but play ping pong with the loading of it. I have to think there's something I'm missing, I must be doing something wrong.

    Can anyone help me understand why it happened. Did I do something I'm not aware of?
    Thank you

    Where are your files located?

    What is the structure of the CUI? Main, enterprise, and all partial.

    office.cui is located on a network drive.
    custom.cui is on the users hard drive.
    I followed the example you gave in the Notes on the philosophy of CUI. If I understood it correctly:
    Main = custom.cui
    Enterprise = office.cui

    Partials to the office.cui are = acad.cui and express.cui

    Note that I change the "Philosophy" thread to use a blank CUI for the user's main CUI file instead of the pre-existing Custom.cui.
    Other than that, I see nothing wrong with the structure. However, make sure the Office.cui is notstoring a path for the Acad.cui and AcETMain.cui. As long as those two files are on the AutoCAD search path, they should not be storing a path.

    I did notice that, I didn't think I would have to do that because currently our custom is blank anyway. Unless you suggest I do the transfer to blank anyway for some other reason?
    We're on 2006 right now, and we have our office.cui as the main cui, because it doesn't work the same for everyone when set to enterprise cui, so currently nobody has any custom anything. I hope to change that in 2008 and introduce workspaces (nobody is using them now) etc.

    I think it is storing a path back to the acad.cui, and not acetmain.cui. But I'm not sure where to change that or how to check it.

    Thank you very much!

    Yeah, some of the nodes aren't populated in Custom.cui and there is no way to get the element in there, such as Mouse Buttons.

    Open your Office.cui in a text/xml editor, and look at the PartialMenuFile elements. Both Acad.cui and AcETMain.cui should be there without a path.

    OK. . Thank you very much, I'll do the custom.cui blank, and check my office.cui.

    Thank you
