VIZ versus MAX

I have been reading around and am having trouble finding the difference between VIZ'08 and MAX'08. Can someone boil it down for me?

Do you have large network rendering farms? Then Viz 2008 many not be for you. You'll notice the capabilities were reduced from 2007 to 2008.

It really depends on what your using it for. The core technology is very similar..in fact MAX has almost everything VIZ has but there is a tonne of stuff that MAX has that VIZ does not. So if you aren't going to be using those features....then VIZ would be fine. Personally, i think MAX is expensive but if it means a choice between VIZ or MAX...i would take MAX every time. Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. The differences in the MR package are really only a concern if you use MR. There are alot of great renderers out there that don;t have the network rendering limitation that VIZ has with rendering. VRay for one!

So ask yourself...what kind of work do i do...and what kind of work will i be doing...and then look at what MAX has that VIZ doesn't.
