Can anyone give me the basics on bring in an ascii text file with x, y and z values? I have attached a copy and I have a stack of them to process.
I changed it to a .txt extension, but I received them as .xyz
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you reformat the txt file so the spaces bewtten the xy&Z are commas, IE: 1234.000,5678.9876,123.5 you can use the "Multilple" command followed by point and paste from notepad. The link explains it better.

You can also insert the txt file into exell and create a ODBC connection then use the data connect. This works good if you want to have a point number or other info linked to the points.
Thanks Murph,
I will work on that this afternoon.

That worked great. I was able to bring all of my point in.
I never would have thought of looking for "MULTIPLE".
Thanks again for your help,
Darrell
Just a caution when you do this - turn running osnaps off, or your points may end up attached to existing linework, or even each other if node osnap is on.
