Default wildcards do not work with FIND command

I have been trying to update multiple elevations on our drasings using the find command. The elevations are entered as MText objects, however, they are not the same strings. I need to change these to a common elevation, but I am unable to use the wildcard characters ( *, ?, # ) in the search string. Any suggestions?

    Currently using AutoCAD LT 2005.

use cadlt R 2006 or higher to fix this , cadlt R 2005 or lower doesn't support this one
