    Default "Copy" without copy

Did you know you could use the Copy function without actually making a copy? I use it when the Move tool is too restrictive. I just use Copy instead, uncheck Copy, and uncheck Constrain.
You can also Mirror without making a copy, or Rotate with copy. Sounds too good to be true? That's the option bar for ya

Move and check the disjoin button does the same thing.

Invoke Copy and press Ctrl and you have the move tool
press attentional Shift and it will constrain
Press Ctrl in Move and you have the copy command
    shift will constrain
    so why 2 commands?

agreed it seems like there doesn't need to be two commands, but can you imagine the questions they would get from new users if there wasn't a copy command? Support would probably have to go through that explanation 10 times a day at least...

So copy would create a new instance, be it mirrored or rotated? I can't imagine how many coffee would've been needed to fuel those brainstorm sessions.

In any case, the difference between 'copy without copy' and move is disjoin... gotta look for some documentation on that checkbox to back my tip with reliable facts.

    EDIT:
The Revit help file has the following to say on the Move command.

On the Options Bar, click the desired options:

    - Constrain: Click Constrain to restrict the movement of the element along vectors that run perpendicular or collinear to the element.

    - Disjoin: Click Disjoin to break the association between the selection and other elements before moving. This option is useful, for example, when you want to move a wall that is joined to another wall. You can also use the Disjoin option to move a hosted element from its current host to a new host. For example, you can move a window from one wall to another wall. This feature works best when you clear the Constrain option.

    - Copy: Click Copy to move a copy of the element. The original element remains in place. When you select the Copy option, the Disjoin option becomes selected; you cannot clear it.

    - Multiple: Click Multiple to create multiple copies of an element every time you click in the drawing area. The option is available only when the Copy option is selected. See Copying Elements with the Copy Command. (To exit the Multiple Copy function, press ESC.)
I will also neuro-program the shortkeys to invoke copy and constrain. Thanx mruehr!
