    Default Move a point parameter?

Is it possible to dynamically move a point parameter in a DB?

I want a midpoint to show up as a grip to move the whole DB but the DB's size changes. It's a door in plan, BTW.

I've only been able to dynamically move regular ACAD objects like lines or points.

yep! don't chain, just treat the point parameter (and node) same as any other object. see HERE for similar examples.
Sometimes, i get lost in my own thoughts and need to ask directions to find my way back.

I've been looking at DBs where the flip line moves but I'm still not figuring out how to make it move. What am I missing? Can somebody please write the directions for placing a flip parameter, then having it move with a .5 multiplier? It's in the stock DB door that comes with ACAD -- the wall thickness is set and the door flips around it.

It's gotta be easy! Block in the process attached.

you have to select both the node and the line, and to set the 'speed' of an action, select it and go to the properties. there's a "distance multiplier" field that's usually set to '1'.

have you checked out the DYNAMIC BLOCK ATP's thread at the top of this forum? good stuff, good stuff....

    Ah that's it, thanks

ACAD calls the 'node' a 'Flip Grip'.

i generalize and call all the little blue thingies "parameter nodes".

one thing to note is that the line is the 'flipping plane' that controls the action.

another is that you dont' necessarily need the two together (parameter element and node) in default position, tho haveing them close helps in the mechanics of building the DB
