    Default Revit vs. Real World

I was inspired by Max LLoyd's recent post comparing a built project to his Revit rendering. Here is our latest project comparing Revit and the built universe. We never did any renderings so the best comparisons that I can make are to camera views set to "shaded with edges".

Really interesting - both from a Revit standpoint and design (and the nice work glimpsed on your website too as it happens )

I've stared at the front roof for ages and I can't work out how it seems to slope up left to right while maintaining a level gutter line.

A nice study into contrast between pen/paper and movie standard.

Need both sometimes, but Real World is the ultimate goal.

Thumbs up Re: Revit vs. Real World

Nice work, I imagine the 3d model must have helped a great deal during construction to visualize the design intent.

Thanks for the nice comments. The majority of the design work is usually done by the owner of the firm. He meets with the clients and works up the preliminary designs while I'm usually finishing up our other jobs. I usually get involved at the design development stage where I can still put my two cents in. It has been a fun project to work with from a design standpoint.

The second story wall is not parallel to the eave, it angles back.

There have been any number of times when I cut a quick section through a specific area at the contractor's request in order to help clarify something for the guys in the field; especially with regard to framing.
