Congrats on your first post!
I'm not exactly sure what your looking for, but you might want to look into Dynamic Blocks. There has been some blocks for steel fabrication already uploaded for others use.
You do not say what Acad version you are using, but ADT06 has a number of ways to do this. I use the Detail Compont Manager for detail work and Styles Manager for 3D stuff. Both have all steel, angles, w shapes, etc... that you would need, and more.. lots more.
ACote
This is correct, ADT has lots of steel shapes, if you're running ADT, check it out.
But if you're not, and are using vanilla AutoCAD, look into Al's Steel Mill. It's a program made up of a lisp routine, dcl and data files. It has a nice dialog box and creates steel shapes from the 9th edition steel manual, they're created as just line work with the option of making them 3D. You don't need any object enablers or anything extra.
For steel shapes, I use two different routines depending on what I'm trying to detail. For general steel, I'll use Steel Shapes by Design Point. If I'm looking to do decking, bar joists or some concrete details, I'll bring up Steel Shapes Plus.
Both are easy to get used to, but will state that their routines draw the steel itself slightly different.
Good luck.

Just be aware that anything not professionally developed may not adhere to standards, even if they say so. If this is for business purposes I highly recommend a professional package.
