    Default Importing ArcInfo Coverage

I am importing coverages, I have files with .dat and .nit suffixes and the same set as .adf. The import function finds something to read in both sets of files since I can see in the import box the layer names and object data. The import function runs and then gives me a message of '_mapimport 0 object(s) inserted in 1 sec(s). Anyone have any ideas?

I am running Map 2008 on xp.

    Thanks!

I can open it in Arcmap, but it is evidently a raster format. Has anyone ever imported this file into Map?

Make sure that the coverage is not loading in ArcMap at the same time and ArcMap is has not loaded it in your current session. To play it safe, have ArcMap not running till after your done working with the coverage. The import (or exporting) of zero objects usually means to that it is being called by another application at the time. (Best Guess)

Use FDO (Data Conect) and select the raster provider. This will bring in a ESRI Grid format..

    thanks, Murph -
I should have been checking back here and read your answer, I had told the client to send as a shapefile, then began using the FDO connect last week and realized that it was possible. Doh!
