Default Inv 2009 - Quantity tag in 2D drawings...

In inventor 2008 we made good use of the quantity tag for the "hole/thread notes", and changed all the hole styles to display the quantity.

INV2008 the tag was like this: <QTY>, but in INV2009 the tag has been changed to <QTYNOTE> which adds an "x" to the output, but lacks the backward compability to the previous tag.

And now all our old drawings old drawings displays the "<QTY>" tag in front of each hole spec, as shown on the attachment. And the only workaround seems to be to load the new styles into each drawing, which only works on those hole which has no additional comments added.

I just think it is very odd and annoying that autodesk changes a tag, when they could have chosen just to add the new one...

Thumbs up Re: Inv 2009 - Quantity tag in 2D drawings...

The Style and Standard Editor of your drawings manages all changes you make to your templates. You could create a new hole standard in you template and utilise this as your default and therefore maintain the same hole notes for future use.

Select Format/Style and Standard editor in your drawing (*.idw) template.
    Dimension area
    Your standard dimensioning tool (default)
Notes and Leaders tab (finding the type of hole you are using to display your relevant needs)
    Modify to suit.
    Create new dimensioning style standard.
Select Overall standard (ISO) or whatever
    Available Styles Tab
    Dimension
Turn "ON" your new standard and turn "OFF" the old one.

Hopefully next time you use the template the results will be as you expect them.

    Cheers.
