    Default slow regen & pan

I have a jpeg2000 image file that is 760kb in size. I am using it as a background image for a site layout. My computer is very slow with pan and zoom. My hardware memory is more than adequate. Anyone know of a solution or workaround, it is quite annoying being this slow. Thanks in advance.

we use background images as you do, i usually put the image on its own layer so when i'm doing basic drafting i turn it off (speeds things up + allows option of having image off or on in differnet viewports by simply turning off layer in viewport)
