I had suspicions that C3D 2008 on my regular seat is somehow slow and did performance test.
PC at my regular seat has: Intel Core 2 CPU, 6600 @ 2.40 GHz, 2.00 GB RAM, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008 with SP2
Other PC has: Celeron 2.60 GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM, AutoCAD 2007 (don't know about SP)
1st test - open same drawing from stage where program is running, but no drawings are open.
C3D - 36 sec; ACAD - 28 sec
~30% difference.... unpleasant, but I can live with that
2nd test - go to Layout1, select any layout object, copy it (Ctrl+c), go to Layout2, paste it (Ctrl+v), sit and count seconds until it is possible to click in the drawing to specify insertion point.
C3D - 45 sec; ACAD - 4 sec
Well, this truly hurts. Difference 11 times. It takes about same amount of time if I'm inserting or xrefing something in C3D layout. Does anybody has experience or knowledge about weak performance of C3D?
Any help, hint, advice will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Yancka
