In the meantime according to the Design Centre there are no xref's, however there are over 2400 blocks and I am not sure whic ones are being used.

    Any way to check this?
If you have already ran the purge command then all remaining block references will be present within the drawing.

    What is a field?

IS there a way of listing the xref's in the drawing (Design Centre?) and if so is there an easy way of getting rid of them.

I have 2 Gb of Ram using XP not sure how to check how much RAM i am using

    Processor is a Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz

    Hope the above helps?

You can get object enablers from here.

To see if there are any there set "fielddisplay" to 1 fields will show up with a grey background.

I would go with Tracey and Steve's suggestions first and the object enablers from Autodesk

Do object enablers work with LT?

    EDIT:

It looks like they do see here.

    I'm assuming so.

    Utilities & Drivers

    AutoCAD LT® 2008

    ~snip~

I must admit that I've never tried them as had full version for a long time.

I have fixed the link on the previous post.

the purge command will removed all unused drawing properties, including unused blocks, when you have finished purge command there are only used blocks left on the drawing, you can check the blocks using the properties command to select whole blocks , then acadlt will display some/whole match blocks highlighted on the screen, except for the blocks that nested to other block.
yes right, the drawing that has created on the other application though produce by autodesk will sometime caused unpredict result when open in LT, run out of memory are the most case, maybe becos LT doesn't support the object enabler..

For anybody's further information the message I get when I open the architects drawings says the following (basically)

    Missing Applications AeccLand30, AeccNetwork30 & LAN_AEC30COL

    Product used Autodesk Civil 3D

    Does this help?

Yes. As others said - either (re)install the Architectural Desktop Object Enabler 2007 (as earlier link) or get your source to "export to AutoCAD".

I have heard of other LT users saving down to R12 (as a different file name), and that apparently gets rid of the proxies... I dont know what happens to the actual information, whether it becomes dumbed down lines etc, or what happens...
