    Angry Dimspace not working properly

Ok I am trying to get the _dimspace command to work but it does not want to cooperate. I try it exactlu how it is in the new features guide, with their file and everything. When I use it to do the baseline it aligns them the wrong way. see attached files of before and after. is there a setting that i might have wrong or something? Please help!!!

This is probably one of the oddities of the DIMSPACE command. For whatever reason, AutoCAD will space your dimensions based on what order you drew them in. Really odd.

My guess you dimensioned the object in this order: 4-6, 14-6, 10-7, 8-1, 6-0

It should have been dimensioned in this order: 4-9, 6-0, 8-1, 10-7, 14-6

Let me know if this works for you.

I tried it here and found that I had to pick the outer most dim and then the next inner one and so on. But if I put the dims on the left side of an object then it works the way the help file shows.

No problem, it was a thought. Richard is right though. I had forgotten about the selection order.

I had the similar issue here and reply from autodesk support is that this is a bug and has been submitted to the product development team.

Workaround: Execute the DIMSPACE command again, it works correctly every alternate execution. i.e.
    1. Use DIMSPACE to space the dimensions
    2. Select the base dimension & crossing window selection for the rest of the dimensions
    3. Press Enter and enter the value
    4. Execute the DIMSPACE command again
    5. Select the same base dimension & crossing window selection for the rest of the dimension
    6. Press Enter and enter the value.

It is yet to resolved in the Service Pack 1. Just dun seems to work efficiently.

    Sim
