Default inserting excel via data link into table

ok i did some searching and haven't found the answer i am looking for,

is it is possible to data link to ecxel but not lose the text size,

I know how to fix it as with an ole object

but in 08, you can use data link and the table looks like autocad table except that the text size is not what i picked in my table style

is there any other setting i am missing, or have to do to make this work

I'm having similar issues, but along with text, the borders also. Idaelly, I'd like to keep every bit of formatting that's in the excel sheet, front fonts to text size, to which borders display and which don't. I would think this would be simple, but it doesn't seem to be.
