Default Beam goes below other roof (show half of it hidden linetype)

In AutoCAD if a beam goes below another roof we will hide that portion of it. See acad example attached.

In Revit I can use the linework tool on a concrete beam and drag the end to display like I want (half hidden, half solid). However with a wideflange I don't get the yellow dots at the end to drag. I can overwrite the whole thing or nothing.

    Thoughts?

This is very similar to a previous thread...

The difference here is that on coarse detail and structural view discipline, hidden lines are not automatic. If the detail level was set to medium or fine, then you would see half of your beam hidden. One solution I can see is to set your view discipline to 'coordination' and then use the tool Show Hidden Lines as described in the referenced post.
