Converting MEP ducts to 3D solids

Is it possible to convert MEP ducts to 3D solids? Our company is working on a project using AutoCad MEP but the client wants the deliverable in 3D solids. If I run the -ExportToAutocad command from an isometric view, it converts things to 3D faces. I don't think the client will find this acceptible. Is there a way to get the ductwork into solids instead of faces?

Have you tried exporting as an IFC file - this should translate those ducts into 3D solids.

Try converting the duct into mass objects and then running the export to AutoCAD command. I have used this method in the past to maintane solids data. You might need to explode some of the fittings on the back end (AutoCAD).

You should be able to covert the objects to solids inside AMEP with the convert objects to solids tool. Let the program do it for you.
