North Arrow text - I don't want it to rotate

I have set the font in this family to "Keep Readable" and yet it rotates with the symbol everytime.

Am I missing something?

This may work better for you, just set the angle in the type properties

Well - that is one way but this customer wants the "N" to pivot but stay readable.
I just can't seem to get this one.

Keep readable only keeps the text "readable" not vertical, in other words it won't go upside down, try this one instead

Man - I never would have thought of nesting the graphics into the symbol.
