    Default door family in masonry

Has anyone created a door family that will actually create a masonry opening when placed in a masonry wall? example when you you use a 3'-0" wide door in a 8 inch cmu wall the opening is 3'-0" not 3'-4".

No, but I bet with the components I posted in the "nested doors" thread you could create one and share it with everyone!! Easiest way to learn is to modify.

Take a look at the UK content. The doors are define by structural opening rather than panel size but there are offerings for external doors in undefined wall types that probably work the way you want them too.

If you are relatively new to Revit then you may not be aware that any metric family will open with its imperial equivalent, thus a 900 door will be around 3' and not 900" or 900'. See what you can plunder.

There are masonry correct doors in RUGI or Revitcity - I don't remember where I download them from..... They are commercial Hollow Metal, but if not what you need, you can modify.

    Sean,

I believe this might be what you are looking for. It's a bit beefed up. There are several doors in each family. There's what I call a Standard door that will move within the wall. There's also a centered door which will center in the wall. I thought it would be easier to add this than to do the math for the center point in each wall. Each version has a lite option as well. Which can be flexed in size too (length, width and location in the door). I set up each family with only one type and let the project determine how many types per project. I thought when I made this it might increase the project size by having so many options in one door but it has not seemed to slow anything down because of this.
