Can't choose color

When I try to create a new layer or even assign a color to an object I can only choose from colors 1-7. If I click "other colors" the screen freezes, if I click my mouse a bell sound rings, and I have to press Escape to return to the drawing. What's wrong?

As far as your problem, I've never heard of that before. I can click on other colors and it brings up the "select a color" dialogue box.

Maybe try doing a repair?
