Texture Transparent Surface Tile

Just thought i'd share this with people.

I was trying to create a tilable bitmap but i couldnt get it to be transparent. I had read that they have to be 97x97 pixels but the standard ones are not this size. As i was typing this email tried something else and hey presto, it worked.

I was saving the file as name.bmp (doh!)
I noticed the transparent tiles have the format ......._1&.bmp
so i simply changed it to name_1&.bmp and it worked.

Inventor 11
Start with Screen_1&.bmp
Open in MS Paint
Edit attributes to be 44 x 32
Ctrl+X
File>New>attributes, change back to 88 x 64
Ctrl+V
Drag image to original size.(scale up)
Save as name_1&.bmp

Hi Craig,

what you say is true, the filename of a transparant texture within Inventor must end with an "&" symbol. This indicates that the textures is transparant, but therefore inventor does not know yet witch area of the texture is transparant.

This is being identtified by the color of the lower right pixel. If that pixel is - for example - magenta, this color set all the magenta pixels as transparant within that texture.
