    Default Trimming

When using the tool trim, the line I trim doesn't get trimmed exactly where the two lines meet, and sometimes not all of the line get trimmed, only a part "in the middle". Is there somewhere I change settings for the trim-tool?

    (I'm using 2008 map 3d)

system variable: edgemode, 0 trims to a line intersection, 1 trims to an extended intersection (an imaginary line extended infinity from the trimming object to what ever you are trimming, and if you have not selected a single trim object, it is extended from every object in the drawing.)

Are you viewing the 2 lines on plan in the current UCS? While in the trim or extend command you can change this by altering the Project method to either UCS (default), View or None.
Also as per the previous post, the Edge usually gives trouble when trimming to a polyline, as a PL might have several lines which are projecting to various imaginary intersections.

No matter what setting is used, it is always a good idea to zoom in close and make sure the smallest details look correct.

If there's a curve involved, do a regen. Sometimes arcs show as a series of lines until the view is updated.

Triming to a spline with edgemode on can exaggerate this problem.
