wall styles and layers

i am having an issue with a "standard" wall type tool pallete. all wall types i have created insert on the standard "a-wall" layer, no matter how i set up the individual wall styles. -help-

You have to change your layer key style. If you go to Format > Layer Management > Select Layer Standard (I am using ADT2006-your menu may vary)

From here you can import or change your style used. I select the <Current Layer> option under the "Layer Key Style" menu. This option lets me place the wall on the layer that I want it on. When creating walls that have hatches and intermediate lines in the wall style I will specify their layer in the wall setup and have the main wall line work on layer "0" and "bylayer" so it will take the attributes of the layer it is inserted on.

If you want to create a key style then you will need someone else's tutelage.
