Smile Kauffman House- Falling waters in revit

    Hello Friends,

When I was studying Architecture, I was always fascinated by F.L.Wrights works. One of the most celebrated ones was the Kauffman House- Falling waters. So here is my basic model of the Kaufman house in revit. With very little time that I get, it took me around 20 working hours to complete this over a period of one month. Though the design looks simple at a first glance, I could imagine the pains that the architect went through while designing this great masterpiece. Just thought it would be fun to share.

That's some nice stuff! You can hardly see any major differences between your picture and this.

Very nice job. I too am a FLW fan. Always have been. I know it sounds cliche', but I am. I even used a lot of his influence when designing my own home (in Revit btw). Rumor has it that Frank designed and began construction documents within 2 hours. His apprentices said it was like watching him take dictation. He just started throwing lines on the paper and didn't have to erase. Truly awe inspiring. The Kauffman residence is one of the best examples of what architecture can truly be. It's a wonderful example of architecture meeting art that inspires emotion. Sure, it has it's problems with moisture, but you've got to look past that and see it through your Architectural (notice the capital "A") eyes.

I have a student who is attempting a model of Falling Water. When he came to me with the idea, I told him that I thought it would require too much of his time, but he insisted. I guess we'll see how well he does.

    Good job.

This kind of stuff should be mandatory for new Revit workers. It expands his understanding of Revit, and is a nice indication of potential and actual skill in general.

It looks like the rocks are cad blocks. You can make those with the topography tool also fyi. They won't have an closed bottom but you can do neat rock walls with teh tool.
