How do you draw walls on a demo layer and walls on a new wall layer and not have them cleanup?
We create wallstyles for demo walls and for new walls.
for the layers, i use Layer key overrides. Autodesk has been so helpfull by placing the icon for Layer Key Overrides in both the layer manager, and also on the main drawing window, 3rd from the right.
When you activate an over ride, anything drawn will be placed on the layer specificed. I usually modify these so the selections are what i want people to have. there are tons of options there. some folks will use AD-Walls for instance other A-Walls-D for demolition walls. this applies to all AEC Objects.
The cleanups are controlled using Wall Cleanup groups. There are 2 setting here. One will allow walls inserted from xrefs to cleanup. The second setting will preven objects ancored to other wall cleanup groups to be copied to that object member of the cleanup group. If you tried to copy a door inserted into a firewall cleanup group, to a wall which was part of a standard, it wouldnt allow it. It does allow you to place doors new.
Wall which are part of the same cleanup group will cleanup, walls part of other groups will not cleanup, even though they are the same style. Excelent for Demo, Existing walls.
Hope that helps...
