Custom Style library dissappearing!

Can anybody possibly shed some light on this "Styles Library" nightmare for me! I have been trying for over 2 years now to figure out how the heck these "styles & standards" work. I have even written out a word document explaining the long & tedious steps to create & save a set of standards that will contain my lineweights, layer colors, text & dim styles etc. I set them all as defaults so that when I open up a new dwg everything is ready to go. I have "use styles library=yes", Active standard shows up as our own. Nothing works everything goes back to an Inventor default. No wonder so many people swing over to "Solidworks! Is there a way to figure out how these ridiculous styles librarires can be saved once and for all & be seen & used everytime I create a new dwg!

Are you saving them back as your templates?


In the folder....
C:\ Program Files \ Autodesk \ Inventor 2008 \ Templates
is where you find your templates. If you open a new drawing, set your defaults like you want, and then save to this location, it turns them into templates... so when you load the program again they are on the quick launch panel and your styles for that drawing are saved there.


Give that a shot and see if it helps your problem
