Question Plot Style table (pen settings)

    I have a problem..............
When I am in a drawing that a customer has sent me . I will make some changes and try to plot with my pen style it is not available but is loaded with my other plot style tables . How do I load my pen style table into the drawing?

Plot style tables are not stored in the drawing. The names of plot style tables are stored in the drawing (in the page setups), but not the actual contents of the file.

Your AutoCAD LT is pointed to a path (in Options) where the CTB/STB files are stored.

Is it possible the customer's drawing is set up differently than you want, example stb (style tables) versus ctb (color tables)?

If so try the "convertpstyles" command to switch it over and then assign your pen table.

    It worked great thanks.....................
Why is it not retaining? Is there a command that will let you do repeated plots with this setting or do you need to type it in each time?

That variable is saved in the drawing, once you set it, it should stay set for that drawing.
If you have 100 drawings that came to you with the different plot style, you'll need to set them each to the other style.

Is that the situation you have now?

What I have had to do in this situation is run the "convertpstyles" command, and then do a "plot previous" from the last successful plot (and apply to layout too) .

If this person is expecting these drawings back, he may not like the fact that you converted over to named plot styles.

He/She should have sent you the necessary STB files.

Better yet, everyone should have been aware of the deliverables before CAD work started...
    Maybe next time.
