Creating Custom Hatch Patterns

I am trying to learn how to create custom hatch patterns so that I can add to the existing ones I have. But I am having a little bit of trouble understanding all the concepts. I have spent over an hour looking through these forums and I have also read all the help files within ACAD (We are on version 200 which honestly were not that helpful.

I am just wondering if anyone knows of a good resource (either on here or elsewhere) that sort of gives a step by step walk through of how to create custom hatch patterns? I would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

Graphical hatch pattern editors or generators speed production of more complex patterns.
Search the web for "hatch pattern" - there's a wide choice.
