Cool Re: What are some of your favourite programs/tools that help get the job done

I use PDF995, great for sending making PDF's to send to people who don't have AutoCAD. I also, use Drawing Searcher v2.5 (upgrading to Docupoint Discovery 4.0 soon). Drawings Searcher indexes your drawings and then in Internet Explorer I can search for any word and it give a list of drawings that contain that word with a preview image. It can also extract title block attribute information and list that as well. This is a great program, I don't know what I would do with out it.

[QUOTE=rhall.72202]What are some of your favorite programs/tools (not cad) that help you perform
    your daily job tasks????[QUOTE]

I use a freeware called convert. It is a small program that allows me to convert things like newton-meters to inch-pounds, and well.......just about any other kind of conversion you can possibly think of. It is available for free at: http://www.joshmadison.com/software/convert/

I also find Windows Media Player to be an priceless tool. It helps to filter out all the drones who gather around the office next to mine and do nothing but gossip all day long. I wonder if they are ever at their own desks? Do they even have desks? Anyway, it does wonders to filter out all the background disturbances from the bathroom too. (Yes, I share a wall with the bathroom, Lucky Me. It is a very thin wall)

[QUOTE]For example......I love the fact the XP toolbar can contain a folder link
to my Acad drawings. What else can I put on the toolbars??[QUOTE]

HMM.....I'll have to consider this. I could possibly use it for some drawing links, but we have many drawings scattered across a network.

I have a great program I downloaded from the internet called
folderprint. Works great when I am working with iges file
translations and want to make a quick print of the file sizes so that
Im not bogging down my machine on a 200mb translation.

Question Re: What are some of your favourite programs/tools that help get the job done

    Hi

Is this software "FolderPrint" free to share / do you have the authors permission?

Can you please supply a web page from where "FolderPrint_332.zip" came, AUGI needs to make sure no copyright infringements exist here.

    Thanks, Mike

It lists a page that cannot be found and designates the program as freeware......not shareware. Should be legit to pass it along.

Dose any thing work with Windows ME?

Unfortunately, I think it's a XP only program. I have heard that it may work on 2K.
    Sorry.

I wouldn't bet on it. I couldn't even get my display drivers for my new monitor to work on windows me. I finally had to bow to the microsoft machine and upgraded to windows xp home (it is about a $100 upgrade from Best Buy, but, it was worth it because autocad 2005 wouldn't even install on ME).
