    Default Poor Print Quality

    Hi:

I love publishing to DWF, it saves so much time, the only problem is that the prints always come back from the printers without any real line weights.

I'm using Autocad 2008, and I have preset all my layouts and .ctb's through the page set up manager. When I open the file with Autodesk Design Review the line weights look okay, when I get them back from the printer the line weights are flat, thin, and the hatching is never right, or much too light.

How can I improve the print quality? Will increasing the vector resolution help, or is that really just for viewing?

I'm using DWF6 eplot.PC3, and always publish through the Sheet Set Manager (most time efficient) should I use something else?

    Thanks.
    M

How do the line weights look when you print from the DWF? If the line weights look okay when you print them, then I would think the issue has to do with how your printing company prints them.

Thumbs down Re: Poor Print Quality

I have noticed this also on internal print jobs.
DWF prints lighter and less than stellar compared to side-by-side PDF and direct-from-Revit prints... People in my studios are serious about their lineweighs, given the effort they put into them I cannot blame them. We want to push DWF instead of PDF but the printed results are not there. DWF does not respect the model's LWT as much as I have to...
