Hiding all those lines in a 3d solid cylinder

Sorry if the title wasnt to clear, wait till you read the rest of my post!!, but what im trying to do is make use of a newly discovered feature in autocad, when i draw a 3d pipe and cross it over another 3d pipe with the hidden line settings on i get the bottom pipe dashed where it crosses the other pipe, but unfortunately it also dashes both pipes as they are made out of loads of sections!!, is there anyway to display cyinders etc as single lines instead of the numerous lines that currently make them up??

I think you are referring to the system variable DISPSILH (refer to the AutoCAD Online Help "F1" for information on this).

I think Karl is referring to Obscured-line-type. As far as I can tell, it is either On or Off.
