    Default info center

Okay, just got a new machine running Vista 64. ACA runs great!!!
Anyway, I tried to search for something in the infocenter, the list comes down as normal. I find what I need and click on it and nothing happens. The link is there like normal, the cursor turns into a hand like normal, but when I pick it, nothing happens.

    What gives?

    Thanks,
Well, it's hard to say. Overall, it seems to perform much better than my old machine. But my old machine was..... well............old. It was a P4, 3.2 I think. I ran XP on it with 4 G memory, even though it only recognized 3 of it.

I'm not sure if the performance boost is because of 64, or because it's a newer duo core machine. I'll know more when I run 2009, since it's a true 64 bit application. 2008 is a 32 bit that I installed on a 64 bit machine. Either way, I like it.

I'll tell you this, though. Running 2 programs at once like Excel and Outlook is much faster;. One takes 32 bits to process, the other takes the other 32 bits. I don't have to wait for both programs to share the same 32 bit OS.

    Ok that sounds promising anyway!

I'm sure when we tried to install ACA2008 on a 64bit OS it wouldn't let you!! We are about to start testing 2009 64 bit very soon (we will be running tests on identical 32 and 64 bit machines and then increaing ram in the 64 bit to measure the gain).

    Regards,

We had to edit the file that won't let ACA2008 load on a 64 bit machine. Once you edit that file (I forgot which one it was, but it's on the autodesk knowledebase), then it will let you install it.

I can't wait to get my 2009 so I can load it and see what it does.
