Default Best Location to store 1st install

I have downloaded RC2009 to my local hard drive and would like to install it on the same hard drive. I read that I could locate the first install downloads (cabs, i.e.) and use those files for all subsequent installs.

My question is where is the best location for those first downloads of the premier install- same place where program initially installed; same hard drive, or networked location.

    Thanks.

I would create a deployment first from the setup program and save this on your server.

You can then use this to install Revit on all of the machines without downloading the content each time.

I have stand alone licenses. I thought the network deployment was for the Network license scenario. Can I create deployments just to distribute the program contents for stand alones?

Yes that fine, it is exactly what we have.

NB: We have one serial number for all licenses which we input into the deployment. If you leave the serial number blank you will be able to type in a different serial number when you activate the software on each machine.
