Default Need A Black Background In Paperspace

I am working in Autocad 2008, and I would like to print to PDF with a black background on the sheet, and with white linework and colored hatching.
Therefore the question is: how do I get the above result...how can I get a black background in paperspace, with white linework and colored hatching ?

    thanks very much,
    Fred.

You could try this...it should work, not tested
Draw a rectangle large enough to encompass your linework
Hatch it with a Solid hatch pattern in a color that will print black (.ctb file)
Send it to the back with Draworder
Change the color of the linework that you want printed white to 255

You could also open the PDF in Photoshop or GIMP, and use a negative filter to achieve the same effect.

Sounds expensive if you ever want to print a hard copy.

Does it have to be a PDF, can it be a DWF? If it can, just go to plot, then choose the DWF PC3 file and then choose properties. Choose custom properties, then in the Access Custom Dialogue, choose the custom properties button. There, on the bottom left, you can choose the background color for the viewer, set it to black. When you okay, make sure you select "changes for this plot only", otherwise, it will change your pc3 file and that's what cad uses to publish to DWF.

Anyway, it won't show up in the preview, but when you open the DWF, it will be black background with white linework. The only problem is it won't translate to a PDF from there. It goes back to a white background if you print to a PDF from the DWF.
