    Default 2009 material library error

So I went to install 2009 and everything went fine... almost.

It downloaded the Protein Library as the last cabinet, then it went to extract the cabinet and I got the error:

"Error: Access is denied. Choose to retry or to skip cabinet 'C:\DOCUME`~1\sfaust\LOCALS~1\Temp\\ProteinMaterialLibrary.cab'."

Since I had the beta installed I figured maybe this was a permissions error, so I went to look for the cab file specified but it didn't seem to exist...

I started Revit and let it download again overnight last night thinking it may be a problem with the first download, but it still did the same thing.

Anyone else had this problem? I had Beta3 installed, and never had an issue with any of the beta builds libraries...

I ran into the same problem on my laptop - but on my desktop at work everything came in just fine. The only difference between the two is the desktop is XP and the laptop is Vista. I don't think that would cause a problem though...

Its with the ProteinMaterialLibrary. I've tried downloading it 3 times on my laptop and no success - is there a location where we can download this .cab file seperate from the install?

I had the same problem. Delete the Rendering folder found in Revit Architecture 2009\Data, and then let Revit download and install the protein material library again.

thanks, re-downloading and trying right now...

Curious that none of the beta's required that (at least not for me).
    thanks

Everything came in fine for me.

But I'm curious, what is this Protein Library all about?

This is just the name used to identify the Mental Ray ProMaterials library.

Still doesn't work for me - tried deleting everything and reinstalling and that didn't work either. Which kind of stinks because when I start Revit it says material library wasn't able to install so rendering will be disabled.

Frustrating is that it looks like all of the stuff extracted properly to the Rendering folder - all of the materials, maps, lights, etc are there yet when Revit is started it doesn't recognize it.

I'll give it a go again this morning and let it run and see if it works.
