    Default Inserting Images

    I am inserting .jpg or .tif images into my drawings. The drawings take a considerable amount of time to load and then panning and zooming in the drawing is really slow. Is there a way to stop autocad from processing the images each time I pan or zoom?

    2 settings to try:

    RTDISPLAY

    Controls the display of raster images and OLE objects during Realtime ZOOM or PAN.

    0 = Displays raster image and OLE content.

    1 = Displays outline only

    RTDISPLAY is saved in the current profile.

    IMAGEQUALITY

    The quality setting affects display performance; high-quality images take longer to display. Changing the setting updates the display immediately without causing a regeneration of the drawing.

    NoteImages are always plotted using a high-quality setting.

    High
    Produces a high-quality display of the image.

    Draft
    Produces a lower-quality display of the image.

    I prefer to use IMAGEQUALITY on draft and let the raster pan with drawing
