Default why is it so slow?

i have a big building with a view for just structure and column center lines.....i have "hidden items and catagories" to clean it up and i have "greyed out" or halftoned all my walls and everything else on the plan.....reminding me of the old auto cad days and the wait for "regen".....the view is sooo freaking slow to work in.....i can deal with it (well, aside from my whining here) but is there something i can change or is this common ????

The problem may be on the halftone. I've read a few posts a while ago where people have their drawings too slow after turning them halftone.

Try turning back your elements to their original color and see what happens.
