Problem with open/save dialog box

I'm having an issue with my laptop where the open and save dialog box opens painfully slow when I'm not connected to the network. It's like it's crashing and showing small pieces of the graphic at a time. It works fine when connected. If I connect remotely through a vpn it's still slow. I'm running ADT 3.3 and have a hp notebook running xp professional with a centrino processor. Thing that gets me is that when I'm in the office everything works great.. and I'm not having any problems with any other programs. Does anyone have and ideas or suggestions?

Clear all of your persistent mapped network drives
and network places. The slow down when not connected
is due to it trying to find those drives, that do not exist
when you are not connected to the work network.
You may want to setup two profiles on that laptop, one
for networked another to stand alone.

Thanks for the advice.. I have a few questions though.. If it were just a network drive issue, wouldn't I see problems from other programs as well? Or perhaps other problems within ADT ? The other thing is that I synchronize with the server every night.. so the network drive that houses my support files, is actually there (work offline)
