    Default Annotation Scale

For some reason my Annotation scale has seemed to stop working.???
I have 3 viewports in my paper space and all at different view scales
However the Dim's and text are also at different scales.??? They are all
annotative and both symbols next to the scale are checked.??
I can not figure out why they will not scale correctly.???
    I am using AA 2008

Dude, you are sooooo gonna kick yourself when I tell you this.

The text wasn't annotative, that's why it's not scaling. I chose a piece of text, did a select similar to choose the rest. In properties, I set it all to be annotative. Some of it was at different anno scales. So then I right clicked, went to "annotation scale object", then to "add delete scales". There, choose the bottom option for "list scales common to all selected objects only". It only showed 1/2"=1'-0", so I added the 3/4 and 1/4 scales, hit okay, went to your viewports and they all look correct. Let me know if you need me to explain it a little better.

Oh yeah, one more thing. When I opened it it gave me a warning that there were too many anno scales in the scale list. It said something about it could cause performance issues and that it should be cleaned down to the default scales, so I hit okay. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Okay, that's wierd. I forgot to check the dims, so I went back and did it again and it didn't work this time.

Oh okay, the text isn't all the same height to begin with! Allright, I usually set my text to a paper height of 3/32", then set the anno scales. Some of your bigger details are 9/32". Select similar again, change the paper space height to 3/32, then all should be well. Don't forget to make the text annotative also. That makes everything the same height as your dims.

I posted another post when you were posting. See above^^^^^^. Don't kick the PC just yet, but if the time comes, I recommend a sledge hammer.

    Hi Richard,

I think you have a corrupt file. The first thing I did was run a recover on the drawing and came up with 65 errors. I then did a purge and tried to do a SCALELISTEDIT. This crashed my AMEP and when I started it back up I tried to SCALELISTEDIT again. Same result.

Like Dan, I did notice different text heights and some dims and text not set to annotative but I think you might be better off to start a new drawing and copy your line work into it.

    Hope this helps,

    Hey Scott,
I noticed the errors too, and copied the entire drawing into a new template and it didn't help. The anno was still off. I think it's the fact that he has the text at different heights to begin with. Of course, I'd copy it to a new template anyway just because of the errors that came up.
