    Default Uninstall previous versions?

How can I run the latest build (RAC2009) for testing, without having to uninstall previous version. Basically, I do not want to upgrade a project midstream without having the ability to test it first- in case there is a problem upgrading. In other words, I want to play around with the new version now, but I have a deadline on a project coming up in a few days. So, I cannot afford there to be any hassles with upgrading that project.

    thanks.

There is no need to uninstall the previous version. Different versions of Revit can coexist side-by-side peacefully. For instance, I can run 9.1, 2008 and 2009 all at the same time if I want to.

So, install 2009, make a copy of your project for testing, but keep your 2008 version around for your actual production.

During install of RAC2008 I was prompted to uninstall previous versions of Revit. I thought I had no choice. Is that not true? How do I get around that?

If memory serves you can have concurrent installs of different releases but you can't have different builds of the same release number installed at the same time. Revit will remove the previous build.
So, as Tom suggested, you can have 9.1, 2008 and 2009 installed at the same time.

They used a different installer for this version so you don't have a choice. It will not uninstall 2008 for you. You have to do it manually or through Group Policy.

Okay, great. Thanks guys. Now I have to sort out the different licenses I have (some bundled with ACAD suite and some are not). But at least I can install the new version to test it in the meantime.
