open file dialog box slow to open

When I go to open a new file the command is very sluggish. It almost acts like it is looking over the network to find all files. This is a stand alone install of ac2005. Is there anything I can change to speed things up?

xppro sp1, 3.2 Pentium, ata hd, 2gig mem

Does this also happen with Explorer? If so, try disabling the display of digital signature icons by right-clicking on a drawing file. You may need to reboot to see any effect.
