    Default xref's acting funny

I have an FB drawing with a few xref’s attached and one xref Overlayed
When I xref the FB drawing into another drawing the Attached files show up as overlay and the overlay comes in as an attachment.???
I use AA-2008 this is very strange. I understood an overlay would not follow the drawing and a attachment will.??
    Anyone seen this before.???

Did the file into which you externally referenced the FB drawing have any external references attached prior to the attachment of the FB drawing? Could any of the external reference files nested within the FB drawing have already been externally referenced in that file? If so, was the attach/overlay status of those nested external references exactly the opposite of the status in the FB drawing?
