    Default Deployment?

So I am going to be setting up a new deployment here at the company I work with. I have done this before, but always had issues integrating certain things I wanted to such as paths and such. We actually use LDT and I would like to path things like ctb files and such which are on the network so that I don't have to go to each work station afterwards and do this.

I know I can include all of the patches with this deployment, but I am curious, is there anything else I can do to help aid things along? Any other recommendations with this?

    Thanks much!

IMO - forget trying to customize the deployment. Just post-process everything after the install is done. We do this using a network copy of ACAD.LSP that sets the support paths, plot paths, etc.

I have posted on this many times, you might do a search.

Also, here are some links with more details:

You could also check this: http://www.cadwerx.net/?path=AcadInstall

It's actually meant for creating installation packages to addons for AutoCAD, but you could also just modify the INI file to set paths & menus. Then just run it from the server on each machine.

Thanks for the input on this!

I am curious, on that CADwerx project, does anyone have a working help file as the one you download seems blank?

The CHM file in the download seems to work fine for me. Here's an older version (build 39), which I've been using for a while now - maybe it helps.

Okay...that didnt work either. Anyone know why I wouldn't be able to open a chm help file on a machine? It just looks as though it is trying to access IE, but then nothing is displayed. Any help is much appreciated!

Is the CHM file located on the same machine from which you are trying to access it?
If not, it won't work. You cannot access a CHM file over the network, thanks to Microsoft.

Google it for more info, and possible hacks or workarounds.

Yes, it is on the machine. On my desktop as a matter of fact.

Which version of Windows you've got? Mine works on XP-SP2. However there may have been an update - looking on the Microsoft support I've come across these:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2350...1&PA=1&SD=HSCH
