Default Crosshair movement jerky across drawing

As I move the crosshair & pickbox across the drawing it is jerky and jumps as if snapping to a grid (not smooth). It just happened staring up today. Can't do any work till this is resovled. I have tried the drafting settings on/off but haven't been any to figure out the solution.

Yep, jUSt to add on to what John said, that's the "snap to grid" toggle. Make sure it's OFF! I hate that toggle.

Anyway, you can also see if it's on by looking at the toggles in the lower left hand of the screen. It's where the ortho and snap, etc. toggles are.

Thanks, but I tried all the fuction keys with no effect. I have used this as a remedy once in the distant past.

All the toggles are off with no change. The interesting thing, it's happening not only with 2006 but my 2000 version as well. Any other thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Is this in only one drawing or all drawings?

It's across the board in more than one version but only in Autocad not Revit. Thanks, Jan

Multiple files in multiple versions of acad on multiple machines and it's a change of behaviour?

Can't think of anything that would cause that.

Okay. It's multiple files in multiple versions of acad on one machine so the machine is the common factor.
Have you changed (lately) the graphics card and/or its drivers and/or your mouse and/or its drivers?
Have you made any changes to the hardware?
