Unhappy Huge time for processing when dealing with Annotative scale

    Dear All,
I am trying to deal with ACA 2008/2009 and solve this problem for a week now. It is causing all of the Engineers working here to be very slow.
When I select a viewport and try to change the VPscale from one scale to the other it takes about 10 minutes to update, which is not what I expect from this Annotative issue.
What is the thing that I am doing wrong here. I downloaded the cleanup scale utility and have gone through each file, and the problem seems to still exist.

I've not had this problem at all. Usually, when CAD is taking that long to switch viewports or spaces, it's looking for a file or link that doesn't exist. There is a utility to help you find such things, but I can't remember what it is. I'll find it and post it for you.

Also, post a drawing if you can so I can check it on my end.

*EDIT* I can't find the link. I saw it here twice somewhere. If anyone knows about the program to detect links to files and clean them up, please let us know.

Why is it called common sense when it is so rare?

Cool Re: Huge time for processing when dealing with Annotative scale

I had a very similar issue that drove me crazy. After much trial and error, what seemed to help was setting my annotation scale to -1. (ANNOAUTOSCALE= <-1>)

Give it a try, it fixed my down time issues.

I've got mine set to 4 and don't have any problems. Also check your ANNOALLVISIBLE and set it to 0. I'm not sure if it will make CAD faster, but you won't see all the annoying annotation from different scales when you select a dimension.
