    Default Assigning Default View Templates

When I create a new section, its default scale in at 1/4" and after it is created the Default View Template value in is properites is "Structural Framing Elevation". Under Setttings > View Templates this template is set to be 1/8" scale.

When making a new 3d view it is using the "Structural Analytical Normal" View Template to start the view. I guess I would like to have my default 3d view when being created to have analytical information be off.

I am wondering if anyone knows where or how to set the default view templates (if you can) when creating new views. I would rather take that approach if I am missing it than put a bunch of work around solutions in place.

    thanks,
    jamie

When you apply a view template to a view, there is a check box down the bottom "apply automatically to new views of same type"

Once you apply a view template to say a section type "building section" with that check box ticked, all new sections "building section" will be created with that view template

Same method works for all other views, but is ideal for sections & elevations

When I try to use this tool for sections, it seems as though the scale for my new view is not read from the view template, but rather the scale drop down that is available to you once you invoke the section command.

For example: I want all new building sections to use my 1/2" detail view template (which has the scale set to 1/2"=1'-0"). All the settings from the view template except the scale are applied to the new section view. I would like the scale to be applied as well.

Is there a way around this, or do I just have to live with it? I would think it would make sense for the scale to follow through as well.

    Thanks.
