Anyone help, black line in viewports 3ds 2009

Im getting a black line for some unknown reason in the perspective viewport only when i render an image in 3ds max 2009, does anyone know why this is and how i can get rid of it?

Im also getting it in the orthographic view ive just found, can anyone shed any light on this and tell me how to sort it?

Very odd indeed. Try changing out your display drivers to see if you can isolate it to either the software or the video card.

i will do thanks for the reply, although rendering of images are fine in previous versions of 3ds 8-9

Are you using any displacement or sub-surface scattering on your model / materials ?

ive read in some forums this is an unknown problem with 3ds max 2009, people have tried all sorts, apparently the service pack 1 wont change the problem.
